Winter's Quiet Landscape
One of Mother Nature’s gifts to painters is the simplified landscape after a snowfall. The winter landscape is full of loose, pared-down abstract shapes and patterns. In this painting "Quiet Afternoon, Wintertime" I wanted to depict a peaceful moment in nature I encountered as I walked in a nearby field that backs into the woods. I found such calm in this setting.
